My cats used to start their onslaught of harassment at 4am, but NOW they just go running to this feeder and I get to sleep in. Things I loved about this: the ability to set specific portions at multiple times during the day, a locking food enclosure so my cats can’t pilfer, and an option to record a sound so they associate that with feeding time. I do have two cats so I’m using a tray instead of the single feeding dish it came with. Overall, I absolutely love this item.

This automatic cat feeder is easy to assemble. It came out of the box easily and by following the instructions, you put together the three or four pieces. The cat food is held on a chamber on top with a locked lid. The instructions were easy to understand. I was easily able to set the clock, the portion size and the 6 times I choose to feed my cat. The clock works by 24 hour clock, and you can pick any times you choose. There’s also a manual button to just have food released when you want. I haven’t tried the recording feature but my cat comes to eat when the sound of the food is released, so I don’t think I will use that feature. I like that the clock is bright because it serves as another clock in our bedroom. (Our cat hates the dog so she stays upstairs!) I have the portion size set as the least amount and it’s more than enough for my small cat. This has been nice to feed my cat several times over night so she doesn’t bother me all night to get fed! I am very pleased with this automatic feeder ! I think my cat is too.

This automatic feeder was very easy to set up! After I set the clock and did the voice recording, I pressed the manual feed button to get an idea of what the portion size would look like. I used this as a guide for the timed portion sizes. I was leery of trying an automatic feeder again since my cat was terrified of the noise the last one I had made when dispensing food. I think it really has made a difference that he hears 'me' calling him to the bowl before it dispenses. On this feeder when the timer goes off and 'I' call him eat, he runs to the bowl and watches the food go into the bowl. He then proceeds to eat without issue. It's nice to not be awakened at 6 am on my days off by a cat demanding to be fed!
