At WOpet, we believe that every pet has a special story to tell, and our team members are no exception. Recently, two of our colleagues, Max and Gavin, opened their hearts and homes to adopt two cute cats, Watermelon and Dex. Their experiences are filled with joy, warmth, and unforgettable moments. We’d love to share their adoption stories with you!
When asked how he met Watermelon, Max recalled the unforgettable moment at the shelter. Initially, he and his family were about to adopt another cat when something magical happened—Watermelon started tapping on the glass door, demanding attention. “The moment our eyes met, I felt like she was the cat I was meant to find,” Max shared. It was as though fate had intervened, guiding him to the cat that would forever change his life.
Once they brought Watermelon home, life became warmer. “For example, when I am playing games, she comes to me, lies in my arms, and then falls asleep on her back,” Max explained. This small but deeply affectionate gesture made him feel an unbreakable bond with Watermelon—a sign of trust and love. Having her by his side, he says, fills his days with joy and makes every moment at home feel special.
Max recalls that moment with a smile: "It was like she chose me. I couldn’t walk away. If I had, I’d have regretted it for the rest of my life."
Since then, Watermelon has become an essential part of Max’s life. Whether it’s curling up on his lap while he plays games or lying on her back for a nap, Watermelon’s trust is clear. For Max, these quiet moments of companionship remind him that adopting her was the best decision he could have made.
Gavin’s story with Dex started with a rather unusual memory. Shortly after adopting him, Dex, still adjusting to his new surroundings, left a very memorable mark—he peed on Gavin’s bed in the shape of a heart! Though surprised, Gavin wasn’t upset. Instead, he saw it as part of Dex’s learning process and, soon enough, Dex was using the litter box perfectly.
One of Gavin’s favorite moments with Dex came after a long day at work. “Coming home late from work and seeing him waiting at the door for me felt just like a family member waiting for me,” Gavin recalled. This simple yet profound act of loyalty and companionship made Gavin realize that adopting Dex was one of the best decisions he had ever made.

At WOpet, we believe that every adoption story is unique, but they all share the same essence—finding love, trust, and joy with a pet. For Max, it was an unexpected connection with Watermelon that changed everything. For Gavin, it was the welcoming heart-shaped surprise from Dex. Both stories remind us of the incredible bonds we form with our pets, making them not just animals but cherished members of our families.
